Arsenal are believed to have agreed a fee with Koln for Lukas Podolski, with the attacker admitting to Per Mertesacker that he wants to move to London.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Germany international for quite some time, however The Daily Mail indicate that a fee of £10.9 million has been agreed between the teams and that personal terms have already been sorted out.
Current Arsenal defender and Podolski’s international team-mate Per Mertesacker has confirmed that the marksman has been in contact in relation to a potential move.
“He has been very interested in the past few weeks and has sent me a number of text messages,” the defender told The Guardian.
“I’ve told him that this is a great place to work and that Arsenal are an amazing club. Nothing has been agreed on yet, though, and Lukas hasn’t given me a ring yet,” he stated.
Arsenal have been largely dependent on Robin van Persie for goals this season, and a summer splurge is expected to remedy the tribulations and inconsistency of this season.
